It was great to have Gasparilla back in person. The weather was perfect to welcome us all back on Bayshore. I ran the 15k on Saturday and half marathon on Sunday, as always, I enjoyed the event. Here are a few of my takeaways. First, I did appreciate the COVID-19 Vaccination verification process. Safety first! The process was quick and easy, you were given a band to wear during the weekend events. I was looking forward to the expo to some shopping, however it was small and not a lot of vendors as in the past, hopefully things will get better, and the expo will be back in full force. The start line was different compared to a few years ago, which was a nice change, other than that it is the same course. Plenty of water stations on the course which always a huge plus on a hot day. They are only two things that I was disappointment with, 1st, they were very little cheering and entertainment on the course. The half marathon course was a bit quiet for my liking. And secondly, I wish they would change up the medals. I did accept all three of my medals proudly. Overall, I had great runs and enjoyed the race weekend. Can’t wait to see what next year brings.
